It looks like the steering wheel airbag didn’t deploy. There’s too much carnage to tell if the others deployed. I’m assuming that they won’t deploy if the car is unoccupied, and in the case of this poor Mazda, I sincerely hope that nobody was in it when it got hit.

I’m not 100% sure anymore but usually wheel and dash airbags deploy for front collisions as that’s where the sensors are, not rear ends (apparently even massive ones).
* Edit, apparently if the car is parked with key out ignition they won’t deploy. I’d say it was hit parked as well.*

It doesn’t look like that car was cut with jaws of life, so it was probably unoccupied. If it was occupied, it would probably be marked biohazard...

Yup. Pulled from a YouTube video. I don’t think I’ve seen that much damage to a car before. I’m going to guess it was a semi at speed hitting a parked car.

Front bags deploy with a front end collision (sensor is by the bumper bar). This wasn’t one so they wouldn’t deploy.
